Today, the term video art encompasses a variety of time-based audiovisual forms of expression, including screen-based single-channel videos, expansive multi-channel video installations, but also expanded cinema and digital net art.
This diversity is also reflected in the exhibition curated by Philipp Freytag and Anne Richter Screen Time. Leipzig video art since 1990. On display are works from three generations of artists: Paula Ábalos, Khaled Abdulwahed, Amel Alzakhout, Christoph Blankenburg, Maithu Bùi, Ronny Bulik, Nadja Buttendorf, Alba D'Urbano, Charlotte Eifler, Timo Herbst, Juliane Jaschnow & Stefanie Schroeder, Sven Johne, Mailand/Innenhof, Ulrich Polster, Sebastian Stumpf, Clemens von Wedemeyer.
Part of the exhibition is a film trilogy by Juliane Jaschnow & Stefanie Schroeder, which will be shown for the first time:
